Parenting Course - Sept/Oct 2011

The second parenting course,  held over three evenings in September/October 2011, in the ESOL rooms at Victory School, was translated for Chin people by Sue Leya.

Course participants were asked what the most helpful thing they learnt was:
o  How to talk nicely to children
o  Giving praise – how important it is and how effective it is
o  Using touch – the physical contact with children
o  Dealing positiviely with children
o  Using time out
o  How to acknowledge the good stuff that children do
o  Giving children more time – helps build a relationship
o  Having rules – easy to forget so the charts will be very useful
