Training for Interpreters

A list of interpreters is held by the Nelson Multicultural Centre.  These workshops were offered for those interpreters who work with former refugees, and offered them a chance to update and upskill in their interpreting techniques.

The workshops were held at NMIT on
1.       Saturday 11^th February 2012
2.       Saturday 25^th February 2012

Course Content
 
Interpreters who participated in these workshops are given preference for interpreting work  by agencies who employ interpreters.
 
To be accepted for the training, interpreters first passed an English Language assessment at NMIT on Saturday 28^th January 2012.
 
There was no cost for attending the training, as costs were covered by the IGNITE project funding from Ministry of Social Development.
