Interpreters Database

Nelson Multicultural Council keeps an updated list of interpreters for 40 different languages. Only a few of these are qualified interpreters, most are Nelson residents who are fluent in more than one language who have offered to provide interpreting services to the best of their ability. This list is provided to the hospital and interpreters who have registered with the HR Dept. at the hospital can receive payment of $35 per hour. Another list is provided to the Justice Department with permission of the interpreters. Occasionally requests are received from individuals and agencies.
