The Multicultural women's group which meets fortnightly for fun, friendship, and information is facilitated by our field worker, Cristy Aydon.
The Nelson Multi-Cultural Women’s Group celebrated their 3rd Year anniversary on 19th October 2009 at Fairfield House. Personnel who deal with the public on a daily basis from both government and non-government organisations were invited to attend the “Getting To Know Us” forum.
Fourteen women from twelve different cultures shared their views and experiences in regard to health, family and relationships with 32 participants. This forum marks the start of the dialogue. Already we have received requests from two of the agencies present on the day to have further conversation on specific issues.
