Russian Language Playgroup
Raduga* ~ Russian Language Playgroup
[ *Raduga is the Russian word for “rainbow”] The group meets fortnightly and is attended by children and adults from different backgrounds, all of whom are Russian or Russian speaking. The purpose of the group is to keep and promote Russian language, to introduce the traditions and customs to our children, and to make their cultural heritage a positive influence in the establishment of their character. In our session we use different ways to teach the children about their Russian culture like games, reading Russian story books, singing songs, dancing, performing in the puppet theatre, celebrating Russian holidays and birthdays, outdoor free play and communication. Raduga meets every second Thursday, during term time, at 3pm at the Tahunanui Community Centre , 61 Muritai Street, Tahunanui, Nelson. Raduga is grateful to the Nelson Multicultural Council and Settling In, Family & Community Services for their support. Contact person: Olga Hillberg. Phone: 547 9330 Email: Olga77@xtra.co.nz |
